Integrating Construction Project Controls and Business Operations through ERP Transformation
Business challenge
An established 25-year-old builder and contractor executing government buildings, commercial developments and residential projects was operating through a large number of manual processes and fragmented sources of business and project data. As the business expanded, limited integration across project management, contracts, procurement, finance and site operations made it increasingly difficult to maintain consistent project controls, obtain timely financial visibility and scale operations without adding significant administrative overhead.
What we did
Assessed the end-to-end construction-management environment, covering project management, procurement, contracts, finance and supporting operational processes.
Mapped and redesigned key business workflows to eliminate manual dependencies and establish ERP-ready processes across business units and project teams.
Defined the ERP functional requirements around project controls, contract management, collaboration, administration, modularity, cost management and schedule management.
Conducted a structured ERP vendor evaluation and selection process, assessing solutions against the organisation's construction-specific functional and operational requirements.
Aligned project, procurement and financial workflows to create greater visibility from project planning and material procurement through invoicing and project-level revenue tracking.
Strengthened project estimation and budgeting processes, enabling more structured assessment of material, labour, design and overhead costs while bidding for projects.
Designed a change-management and adoption programme covering executives, managers and site employees, supported by training and progress scorecards.
Supported implementation governance to ensure the selected ERP was deployed within the planned schedule and budget.
